How wurmhole.app works
Launch a Pump.fun coin from any EVM chain. Pay in ETH, USDC, USDT, BNB, AVAX and more, and Wormhole carries it to Solana as SOL. This guide covers the full flow, every launch status, what it costs and what happens if something goes wrong.
Overview#
Launching on Pump.fun normally means holding SOL in a Solana wallet. wurmhole.app removes that requirement. A launch is two things:
Name, ticker, image, description and an optional X link. Pinned to IPFS before anything touches a chain.
SOL from a Solana wallet, or ETH, USDC, USDT, BNB, AVAX, POL, HYPE or MON from an EVM wallet, covering your dev buy plus a small fixed overhead.
Everything else is automatic: your payment is routed over Wormhole by Mayan, the launch transaction is built and signed on Solana, and your dev-buy tokens are delivered to the Solana address you choose.
Quickstart#
- Open the launch form. Go to Launch a coin.
- Describe the coin. Upload a square image (PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF, up to 5 MB), then add a name, ticker and description.
- Choose a dev buy. The amount of SOL spent buying your own coin in the launch transaction. 0 is fine.
- Pick what to pay with. The form shows how much you'll send and roughly how long it takes.
- Enter the coin owner. The Solana address that will own the coin and receive the dev buy.
- Connect and sign. Connect your EVM wallet and sign one transaction (plus a one-time approval if you pay with USDC or USDT). The status page updates live until your coin is trading.
How it works#
A cross-chain launch moves through six parties. Each arrow is a real on-chain or off-chain step.

What is Wormhole?
Wormhole is a cross-chain messaging protocol that connects Solana with the major EVM chains. Messages are observed by a network of 19 Guardians; once 13 of them have signed, the message becomes a VAA (verified action approval) that contracts on the other chain can trust.
wurmhole.app uses Mayan, which builds routes on top of Wormhole. When you pay, the server fetches a fresh Mayan quote and builds the source-chain transaction for you to sign. The destination is always the wurmhole.app launcher wallet on Solana.
Swift fills & MCTP
Most payments use Mayan Swift: your transfer opens an auction, and the winning solver (driver) delivers native SOL on Solana from its own liquidity, usually within seconds. USDC can also take an MCTP route, which moves the USDC with Circle CCTP and coordinates the swap over Wormhole messaging.
Two ways to pay#
| Cross-chain (EVM) | Direct (SOL) | |
|---|---|---|
| Pay with | ETH, USDC, USDT, BNB, AVAX, POL, HYPE, MON | SOL |
| Wallet needed | An EVM wallet | A Solana wallet |
| Who signs the launch | The wurmhole.app launcher | You |
| Time to live | Usually seconds to a few minutes after your tx confirms | Seconds |
| Extra cost | 0.03 SOL overhead + route fees | Network fees only |
From an EVM wallet
The server reserves your coin's mint, pins its metadata and quotes a Wormhole route sized so the guaranteed minimum SOL output covers your dev buy plus the overhead. You sign one transaction on your chain. Once the SOL lands at the launcher, it sends the create_v2 + buy transaction with your address as creator, then transfers the dev-buy tokens to you in a follow-up transaction.
Direct with SOL
The server builds the launch transaction and signs it with the coin's mint key. You add the only other signature it needs: your wallet's. The server then broadcasts it and records the result. It only broadcasts the exact transaction it prepared, with the same mint and fee payer.
Launch lifecycle#
Every cross-chain launch is a small state machine. The status page polls it and advances it one step at a time; each transition is claimed atomically, so a launch can never be executed twice.
Status reference
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
awaiting payment | Launch saved; waiting for your source-chain transaction. | Connect your wallet and sign within 1 hour. |

minting | SOL arrived; create_v2 + dev buy is being sent and confirmed. | Nothing. |
live | Coin is trading on Pump.fun. | Share your coin page. |
refunded | The route could not be filled. | Funds are back in the wallet that paid, on its chain. |
expired | No payment within 1 hour. | Start a new launch. |
failed | Payment rejected, or minting failed after retries. | Contact support with your launch id. |

Costs & fees#
A cross-chain launch with a 0.5 SOL dev buy breaks down roughly like this:
- Dev buy: exactly what you enter, spent on your own coin.
- Overhead (0.03 SOL): account rent for the mint and bonding curve, the token transfer to your wallet, and network fees. Cross-chain only.
- Route cost: Mayan's relayer fees and slippage buffer are already included in the amount you are asked to send. SOL that arrives above the launch cost is sent back to your coin owner.
- Platform fee: optional. When enabled, Mayan pays a small referrer fee out of the route, and it is already included in the quote.
- Pump.fun fees: standard protocol and creator fees on every trade, including your dev buy.
Route minimums
Wormhole routes have a minimum size, so very small payments may not get a quote. If that happens, the form tells you before you sign and suggests a larger dev buy or another chain.
Ownership & creator fees#
The Solana address you enter as coin owner is written on-chain as the coin's creator at mint time. That has two consequences:
- Pump.fun creator fees from every trade accrue to that address's creator vault, and only it can claim them.
- The dev-buy tokens are transferred to that address right after the coin goes live.
Metadata & coin page#
Every coin gets a permanent page at wurmhole.app/coin/<mint>. Its mint address is reserved the moment you open the launch form, so the page URL can be written into the coin's on-chain metadata as its website. Explorers, DexScreener and Pump.fun all link back to it.

Bonding curve#
New coins trade on a Pump.fun bonding curve: price rises as supply is bought. When the curve is fully bought, the coin graduates and its liquidity migrates to the Pump AMM automatically. Coin pages show curve progress live.
Safety & refunds#
- Refunds go to you, on your chain. If a route can't be filled, Mayan returns the payment to the wallet that sent it.
- Payments are verified. Before using a payment, the server looks up your source transaction on the Mayan explorer and checks that it was sent by the wallet saved on the launch, pays native SOL to the launcher on Solana, and started after the launch was created. One transaction can only fund one launch.
- Exactly-once launches. Each launch is claimed atomically before minting, and a stuck transaction is only retried after its blockhash has expired, so a coin is never minted twice.
- Mint keys are encrypted at rest and never leave the server. A reserved mint can be used once.
- No custody after launch. Tokens and any surplus SOL are sent straight to the coin owner.
FAQ#
Do I need a Solana wallet?
Not to pay. You need a Solana address to own the coin and receive the dev buy. You can paste one from any wallet.
How long does a launch take?
Swift fills usually land within seconds of your transaction confirming. Slower source chains or MCTP routes can take a few minutes.
What if the route fails?
Mayan refunds the payment to the wallet that sent it, on the chain it came from, and the launch shows as refunded.
Can I pay with Bitcoin or another non-EVM coin?
No. Cross-chain payments come from an EVM wallet: ETH, USDC, USDT, BNB, AVAX, POL, HYPE or MON. On Solana, pay with SOL directly.
Can I edit my coin after launch?
No. Name, ticker, image and metadata are fixed at mint time.
Who gets the creator fees?
The coin owner address you entered. It's set on-chain as the creator.
Where does my coin trade?
On the Pump.fun bonding curve, then on the Pump AMM after graduation. Any Solana wallet or aggregator can trade it.
